Real-time operational dashboards on Metabase

Badan Gizi Nasional, Pusat Data dan Sistem Informasi · 2025

Problem

SPPG delivery data arrives from several source systems as wide, scattered database tables — hundreds of thousands of rows and hundreds of columns, built for machines rather than for reading. The people who needed to act on it could not read it directly, so every question routed through an analyst.

What I built

  • Built and maintained the dashboards on Metabase, sitting on the transit tables rather than on hand-made extracts.
  • Wrote the SQL behind every value the dashboards display, and took on the database management the work required.
  • Structured each dashboard around a question the decision makers actually ask, so the answer is the first thing on the page.

Outcome. Decision makers filter the data themselves instead of requesting an extract. Data that arrives as raw API output now reads as delivery progress anyone in the agency can follow — and the questions that used to reach my desk now get answered before they are asked.

SPPG delivery data arrives from API as wide, scattered database tables. I shape it into Metabase dashboards — SQL-based views that turn raw rows into delivery progress anyone in the agency can read at a glance.
